Farm Boys

Farmer Mike looks like he's wiping sweat of his brow....but he's really just thinking.

G.M.H.

I was so happy to finally meet the guy. Gideon has the cutest newborn cheeks I've ever seen. I loved the love in the room.....Big Bro H couldn't get enough of Gideon. Gideon, you're in good hands. Your mommy and daddy are some of the most loving parents you could have. Can't wait to get to know you more.

We had a little holiday....

Our little family of 4 checked out of the M&M Hotel and checked into the M&M Motel for a few nights. You'd think that going from a hotel to a motel would be a down grade, but I assure you it wasn't. If you ever get the chance to stay at the M&M Motel count yourself lucky.

Here's a quick recap of our holiday:

Bill & Jester standing in front of a very official looking sign.

Goind for walks is a little more difficult in Riding Mountain......us prairie folk aren't used to the hills. Jester needed a lot of assistance. He's a true prairie boy.

We had ice cream several times. Tiger Tiger was an instant hit. It's all about the name and how fun it is to say....or growl in Bill's case. The taste leaves something to be desired. Black licorice and oranges? sheesh.

We rented this bike (which looks more like a car and my burning thighs would tell you it weighs as much as a car). Lucky for Bill and Jester their legs couldn't reach the pedals so me and Drew had to do all the peddling. A 30 minute rental is long enough. Drew and I are still sore.

We spent some time playing at the beach. Jester's whole look just screams nautical.

Clear Lake is extremely beautiful and extremely blue.

We saw some wildlife.

We crossed some boundries. When don't we?

We had the playground all to ourselves since most families don't take holidays in the middle of May. Us Vbergs? We don't do things by the book.

We stopped to smell the roses. Chillaxin' was my favorite part.

We took a little detour on the way home. Yup, we visited this emu. Jester had the clever idea to feed the emu one of it's own feathers. Strangely, the emu ate it.

May Loooooong

HD and C&C came over to celebrate the May LOOOONG weekend today. We had a wienie roast some delicious drinks, chaps and dap, and some yum-O salad. Cheers to great friends!

Doft looks satisfied after a few ranky franks.
Jester left the scene temporarily and left Noah with a long, uninterupted turn with the semi. He couldn't stop smiling.
Chris is cashed out after a few too many....hotdogs.

Would you like some hotdogs with that ketchup?

last week in pictures.

This is Papa trying to follow one of Jester's complicated, never-ending stories. It's his newly discovered hidden talent. He has some pretty complicated story lines....anything from scary owls, to Farmer Mike, to getting stuck on a four wheeler, to Bill disappearing into the forest.....oh and I forgot to mention the baby duck that uses his soother.

The Twins came to visit us the other day. Jester was out doing an errand so Bill had them all to himself. They spent time catching up, snacking, and digging up worms.
Nana's buns are the BEST. Cinnamon buns that is...sheesh.Bill is starting to look very grown up, don't ya think? He looks a little like his Uncle Chris to me.
Jester visited Drew at the work site out in Friedensrue....or Friesen's Room as Bill calls it.

The Nature of Things.

This poor lady bug didn't know what hit it. This picture was taken only moments before it's death. I guess Jester doesn't know his own strength. A lot of yellow stuff came out of it.

SQUISH.....

And Bill told me he wanted to take the 'barf' off of the trees......

P.S. I Love You

Team Ribbons Rocks

Team Ribbons rocked the house on Friday. We came from behind for a very convincing win. Team members consist of Lisa Vanden Berg and Chris Loewen. WE KICKED.

Here's a recap of the night:

These are my partner's very capable hands. You guessed it...he has ROCKIN' hand....and he knows how to play it.

Here is my partner looking very confident. No fear here. Nice shirt BTW.

Here's Chris holding the official score card. Notice what the other team named themselves. It just makes Team Ribbon's win even sweeter.

Their faces say it all. They lost and we won. Here's a shout out to Team Ribbons: "YOU ROCK THE HOUSE EVERY TIME!!!"
